Nairobi, Houten and now Seville. The magic run of Virginia Riera and Julieta Bidahorria continues. After winning two titles and reaching a final at last week’s FIP Silver in Porec, they have now also claimed the FIP Gold Ciudad de Sevilla, which offered 150 FIP Ranking points. On the final day of the tournament, the two Argentinians beat Elena De La Rosa and Daniela Portilla 6-2 6-4 in the semi-finals, before repeating the same scoreline in the final against number 1 seeds Lucia Sainz and Leti Manquillo. “Thank you to the crowd for coming here – said Bidahorria -. It has been an exceptional tournament, very well organised”. “Our opponents played very well, but we are very happy with how we played this weekend – added Riera -. I would like to send a message to all the mothers in Argentina, as today (Sunday) is Mother’s Day”.
MEN The men’s title went to Victor Ruiz and Facundo Lopez. It was a very long day for the number 6 seeds, featuring two marathons: first, their semi-final against number 2 seeds Enrique Goenaga and Guille Collado, which they won 7-6 6-7 6-4, and then a comeback victory (4-6 6-4 6-3) over the top seeds Nacho Piotto and Javi Barahona. “We fought hard to win this final”, said Ruiz. “Playing here was special, and fortunately I managed to win this time, unlike last year”. Victor Ruiz, alongside Alex Ruiz, lost the FIP Platinum final to Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini last year. “Thank you to the crowd and the organisers for this weekend. It is a pleasure to play with Victor”, added Lopez, who has now won his sixth CUPRA FIP Tour title in 2026, and his second FIP Gold after his triumph in Shanghai in June.
