Gonzalez-Ruiz and Vano-Castillon: the top seeds in Cyprus

AYIA NAPA – Several leading players from the international padel circuit are arriving in Cyprus to compete in the FIP Bronze Cyprus IV. The pairing of Jose Luis Gonzalez and Javi Ruiz heads the men’s draw. Gonzalez is one of the most successful players in the history of the CUPRA FIP Tour, with 16 career titles, seven of which have come at FIP Silver tournaments. Ruiz, meanwhile, is also an established name on the Premier Padel Tour and has won six titles. The second seeds are Spaniards Ferran Insa and Marcel Font. Insa claimed the title at the FIP Bronze La Coruna in early July. Also among the leading pairs in this tournament are Borja Trujillo Chang and Kevin Uriel Kviatkovski (3) and Sergio Nieto and Pau Minano (4).

There is also considerable anticipation surrounding the women’s draw. The top seeds are Lorena Vano and Carmen Castillon. Vano has won a total of eight CUPRA FIP Tour titles, while Castillon has claimed three. Their objective in Cyprus is to secure their first title together. Their main challengers for the title are Jimena Diaz and Amanda Lopez (2). Also among the leading pairs are Claudia Ordonez and Paula Ferran (3) and Martina Vera and Maria Portillo (4). The main draw of the tournament will begin on Friday 6 November and conclude on Sunday 8 November, when the semi-finals and finals will be played.
