Padel is officially part of the sports programme of the XIII South American Games, which will take place in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, from 12 to 26 September 2026. Following the exhibition matches at Asuncion 2022, Padel takes a major step forward and will feature among the medal sports at an edition of the Games involving 15 countries and 5,000 athletes, with an extensive programme comprising 43 sports and 60 disciplines across five different venues.
The Padel competition will be held in the city of Rafaela, at the new Microestadio, from 22 to 25 September. The tournament will feature delegations from the National Olympic Committees affiliated with ODESUR whose national federations are recognised by the FIP. Each nation will be represented by one men’s pair and one women’s pair in a highly competitive environment.
The inclusion of Padel in the South American Games programme represents a further recognition for the entire global community of the sport and for the work carried out with commitment by the International Padel Federation and the national federations. A pathway based on fundamental principles such as inclusion, social engagement and respect for the values of the Olympic Charter, which identify sport as a vehicle for education, culture and dialogue between peoples.
CARRARO “The inclusion of Padel in the official programme of the 2026 South American Games represents a very important milestone for our entire movement,” said the President of the International Padel Federation, Luigi Carraro. “South America is an integral part of the history and growth of Padel, and its presence in another major continental multi-sport event confirms the international recognition achieved by our sport. We continue along our global development pathway, based on the values of sport, inclusion and sharing, consolidating Padel’s presence in the most important multi-sport events worldwide.”
The FIP thus reaches another milestone in its ongoing development process. A pathway that includes participation in the Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, the Asian Games Nagoya 2026, the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games Riyadh 2026 and the European Games Istanbul 2027, strengthening Padel’s presence in the most important multi-sport events worldwide.
