The President of the International Padel Federation (FIP), Luigi Carraro, is in Budapest for the two-day 55th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), one of the most important events of the continental Olympic Movement, taking place on June 12 and 13, 2026. Attending the event are IOC President Kirsty Coventry, EOC President Spyros Capralos, along with presidents and representatives of European National Olympic Committees, IOC members, leaders of the Olympic Movement and organizers of upcoming Olympic and multisport events, as well as the main international and European sports federations.

During the proceedings, key topics for the future of the Olympic Movement have been and will continue to be addressed, including an address by IOC President Kirsty Coventry, EOC updates, and the presentation of the Istanbul 2027 European Games, as well as discussions on future international multisport events. On the sidelines of the first day of the Assembly, President Carraro met with several representatives of the IOC, the EOC, and other stakeholders of the Olympic Movement.

Carraro highlighted that Padel’s growth path will continue in the coming years through an increasingly structured presence in major international multisport events. After its debut as a medal sport at the 2023 European Games in Krakow, Padel will also be featured in the 2027 edition in Istanbul. In addition, Padel will already be a medal sport this summer at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. It will later award medals at the XIII South American Games in Santa Fe (Argentina), the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan, and the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Riyadh.

These events confirm the continued global expansion of Padel and its consolidation within the main international multisport circuits, strengthening its path towards closer integration with the Olympic family.
