Aima and Stellato: the week after triumphing together, they meet as opponents in Frascati
July 30, 2026
From one week to the next, everything can change in the world of padel. Players can go from being teammates to becoming rivals competing for the same trophy. Clarissa Aima and Emily Stellato know this well. Last Sunday, the two Italian players won the FIP Bronze Rovato title together; just a few days later, they will step onto the court as opponents aiming for victory at the FIP Bronze Frascati in Italy. Aima will play alongside Giorgia Rosi, while Stellato will partner Giulia Sussarello. The latter pair have already shown their ability to win together. In 2026, they claimed titles at the FIP Bronze Slovenia and Bratislava events. Both pairs are positioned in the lower half of the draw and, unless they are eliminated earlier, they will meet in the semi-finals. On the opposite side, the women’s draw is led by Blanca Arriola Cerrejon and Rebeca Lopez. The No. 1 seeds reached the final together this year at the FIP Bronze Astorga in Spain last June. Also among the leading players in Frascati are Natalia Molinilla and Eugenia Guimet.
The men’s draw also features a strong presence of Italian players. The No. 1 seeds are Simone Iacovino and Giulio Graziotti. Iacovino recently finished runner-up at the FISU World University Championships, held in Malaga from 7 to 11 July, alongside Matteo Platania. The latter will also compete at the Italian stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour, where he will partner Matteo Sargolini. Other notable pairs include Lorenzo Di Giovanni-Diogo Jesus and Jose Rico-Juan Cruz Forastello. The main draw of the tournament will begin on Friday 31 July and conclude on Sunday 2 August, when the semi-finals and finals will be played.
