Kurz and Melero-Landáburu arrive in Bali with the same goal: chasing a season double in Indonesia

Winning two titles in the same country in a single season is no easy feat. At the FIP Silver Bali Island Sport in Indonesia, two players of one men’s pair and one female player will take to the court aiming to achieve precisely that. They are the duo of Miguel Melero-Pablo Landáburu – the former triumphed at the FIP Bronze in Yogyakarta at the end of May, while the latter won the FIP Bronze in Jakarta – and Victoria Kurz, winner of the FIP Bronze in Banten in mid-July, who will partner Anastasiia Ryzhova this week.

 

The No. 1 seeds are among the leading names in the men’s draw: Marcos Gonzalez Blanco-Martin Abud. Together in 2026, they won the FIP Silver in Narbonne, France. Gonzalez Blanco has also won the FIP Silver events in Timisoara, Caltanissetta and Wadi, as well as the FIP Bronze in London. There is also a pair that has already won a tournament in Asia this year: Sergio Icardo-Jordi Casanova, champions at the FIP Bronze in Samui, Thailand. Also worth watching are the duo of Miguel Gonzalez-Adrian Ronco and the partnership of Borja Trujillo Chang-Miguel Morales.

 

Among the names in the women’s category, Virginia Riera, No. 35 in the FIP Ranking, stands out. At the Indonesian stop of the CUPRA FIP Tour, she will share the court with Zahra Kahrizi. For Riera, 2026 has so far been a year of strong results: the Argentine has lifted the trophy at the FIP Silver events in Manila, Jersey Island and Dubai, as well as the FIP Bronze events in Agrigento and Bahrain. Ainize Santamaria-Aitana Garcia are also among the players to watch: Santamaria has won the FIP Bronze events in Joinville, Dakar and Budapest this year, while Garcia is still seeking her first title of the year on the circuit. Nerea Guerra-Carla Fernandez are also among the entries. The main draw of the tournament will begin on Friday 13 August and conclude on Sunday 16 August, when the semi-finals and finals will be played.
