Portuguese celebration in Oeiras with Graça and Araujo. Fernandez-Carrascosa cruise to the women’s title

OEIRAS – It was a Portuguese celebration in Oeiras, just outside Lisbon, where the home players took centre stage at the FIP Bronze held over the weekend. The men’s title went to national team players Pedro Graça and Pedro Araujo, who claimed their fourth CUPRA FIP Tour title on home soil, following previous wins in Madeira, Lisbon and Portimão. In the final, they defeated Spain’s Pau Miñano and fellow Portuguese player Pedro Perry 6-4 6-4. “We’re delighted with another fantastic weekend,” said Araujo. “Thanks to everyone who supported us over these past few days. Let’s keep going – we want more.”

In the women’s draw, Cristina Carrascosa and Marisol Fernandez enjoyed a perfect tournament, winning the title without dropping a set. The final was equally one-sided, as the Spanish pair defeated home favourites Ana Nogueira and Andrea Batlle 6-2 6-0. It was their third title in the space of six weeks, following their victories at the FIP Bronze in Sassuolo and the FIP Silver in Lisbon.
