Cordenons, two world champions on the throne Eternal Allemandi, Castelló/Rufo also dominate

Two-time world champion with the Argentine national team, but still eager to have fun and win. Tito Allemandi won the FIP Bronze in Cordenons, played in Italy, paired with Spanish Aimar Goñi. Allemandi, who triumphed with the Albiceleste in 2014 and 2016, is excited: “Every victory is a caress to the soul”. His young partner, on the other hand, has won his first CUPRA FIP Tour title in his career: “I’m delighted to have won my first tournament and even more so to have done so alongside you – he said, addressing Allemandi –. Heartfelt thanks to my family, my girlfriend and all my friends for always being there, even when things get complicated”. The final versus Rivas/Reina ended 6-3 4-6 6-1.

In the women’s tournament, Jessica Castelló (world champion with Spain in Doha last November) and Lorena Rufo dominated, winning the trophy after conceding only seven games in four matches. In the final, Castelló/Rufo defeated their Spanish compatriots Natalia Molinilla and Lucia Perez 6-1, 6-2, making the most of their FIP rankings, which see them ranked 15th and 25th respectively.
