Revolution in the men’s draw: so many new pairs!

The Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour season never stops. From Germany to the Netherlands, from Düsseldorf to Rotterdam, from a P2 to a P1, the first of two consecutive events as the tour then heads to Italy for the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1. The Premier Padel Rotterdam P1 marks the debut of many new pairs in the men’s draw, all with the aim of entering a battle for the titles involving – as happened in Düsseldorf – Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (winners in 2024 in the Netherlands), Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan and a few others.

MEN There are 48 pairs at the start of the men’s draw: in the top half, the new pairs are Fran Guerrero and Momo Gonzalez (7), Jon Sanz and Paquito Navarro (5), Tino Libaak and Jairo Bautista (13), Edu Alonso and Juan Tello (9), Javi Leal and Lucas Bergamini (8), and Pablo Cardona and Javi Garrido (10). This is a real revolution for a week in which all the seeded players – as happens in P1 – will enter the court from the second round. These are the possible quarter-finals: Coello/Tapia (1)-Guerrero/Gonzalez (7), Sanz/Navarro (5)-Nieto/Yanguas (4), Stupaczuk/Lebron (3)-Di Nenno/Augsburger (6), with Javi Leal and Lucas Bergamini potentially facing Dusseldorf champions Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) on Friday.

WOMEN Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay are still at the top of the women’s draw of 28 pairs: the number 1 seeds will make their debut against Lucia Martinez Gomez and Nuria Rodriguez or against a qualifier, while defending champions Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez (2) will face Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez or Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno. Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez (3) and Andrea Ustero and Sofia Araujo (4) are the other pairs who will have a bye in the first round. Hypothetical quarter-finals: Brea/Triay (1)-Guinart/Virseda (8), Jensen/Alonso (6)-Fernandez/Gonzalez (3), Ustero/Araujo (4)-Salazar/Calvo (7), Ortega/Araujo (5)-Josemaria/Sanchez (2).
