Cassetta targets back-to-back titles in Montesilvano
April 30, 2026
Following his success at the FIP Silver in Bari, Marco Cassetta moves to the Abruzzo coast in search of a second consecutive title on the CUPRA FIP Tour. He returns at the FIP Bronze in Montesilvano, Italy, this time partnering French player Dylan Guichard, as they headline a men’s draw of 32 pairs. The No. 2 seeds are Emilio Sanchez Chamero and Alberto Garcia, who have only recently formed their partnership and are now seeking their first title together after two consecutive finals in Marrakech and Isla de la Palma. Alongside Cassetta, several members of the Italian national team will be in action at the Colors Play District from Friday: Giulio Graziotti and Simone Iacovino (5) will compete together, while Lorenzo Di Giovanni returns to his home region alongside Noa Bonnefoy (8). Also in contention for the title are Rodrigo Coello with Jaume Romera, and Jose Luis Gonzalez – winner in Bari with Cassetta – alongside Antonio Varo (3).
Lorena Vano and Xènia Clascà lead the women’s entry list, one month after reaching the final at the FIP Bronze in Houten. In the lower half of the draw, Teresa Moriñigo features, former partner of Vano and now competing alongside Lucia Fernandez, the latter having won the FIP Bronze in Baku two weeks ago. Among the Italian players, in addition to Vano, Giulia Sussarello stands out alongside Carla Touly (4), as do Martina Parmigiani and Giorgia Rosi (6). Also among the potential surprise pairs of the tournament are Caterina Baldi and Clarissa Aima, who already claimed victory in Rivesaltes earlier this month.
