Fifteen times Cassetta, first time for Oviedo: a special day in Lelystad

One player reaching his 15th international title, and another entering the list of CUPRA FIP Tour winners for the first time. In Lelystad, the Netherlands, Marco Cassetta and Fabian Oviedo’s Italian-Argentine partnership claimed the FIP Silver Allesvoorpadel title. In the final, the No. 3 seeds produced a convincing performance to defeat Dutch player Roper and Portugal’s Caiano (6-2 6-3), after beating home favourites Bram Meijer and Menno Nolten in the semi-finals (7-5 6-3), a pair that arrived after winning the FIP Bronze in Dronten. For Cassetta, it was his 15th victory on the International Padel Federation Tour, while for Oviedo it was the first title of his career.

Monica Gomez also reached double figures in the ranking of the most successful players on the CUPRA FIP Tour, alongside Lucia Peralta in a tournament where the pair improved match after match. After a hard-fought opening match against Germany’s Plümer/Hering (7-6 6-4), the No. 1 seeds in the women’s draw defeated Bernard Mesa (6-4 6-3) and Belgium’s Pysson/Boeykens in the final with a double 6-2. For Gomez and Peralta, it was their first title together.
