road to Final 8. The queens of Europe and Europe as queen: 18 million players and 45,000 courts
October 18, 2025
From Italy to Sweden, from Germany to the Netherlands — padel is everywhere in Europe. Today, in all 50 countries of the continent, there is at least one club where the “pala” is the star.
Constant growth is confirmed by the study of the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department – the research center of the International Padel Federation – just a few days before the start of the Final 8 of the FIP Euro Padel Cup in La Línea de la Concepción, Spain.
The study shows that Europe hosts most of the world’s padel courts: more than 45,000 courts, or 65% of the global total of over 70,000. Europe also has the largest number of players and fans: 18 million people who play padel – men and women, young and adult, professionals and amateurs – all united by passion for the sport. The continent also leads in the number of clubs: over 14,000 sports centers, representing more than 60% of the 23,000 clubs worldwide, half of them affiliated with federations recognized by the FIP. It’s an impressive figure if we think that at the beginning of 2020 there were only 5,000 clubs – the number has tripled in five years, a +150% increase.
The nine nations represented in the Final 8 of the FIP Euro Padel Cup (Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden) – with 16 men’s and women’s teams – together account for 58% of all padel courts in the world, showing the strength of Europe in the global scene. A fast growth also seen in the quality of the players: 128 athletes, 64 men and 64 women, ready to perform in La Línea de la Concepción from October 21 to 25.
