Samu Rivas enters the winners’ circle: the 17-year-old Spaniard has secured his first career title on the CUPRA FIP Tour by winning the FIP Bronze event in Helsingborg alongside Nico Zurita. In the final, the pair defeated the favourites Víctor Mena and Marcos González in three sets (5-7 7-6 6-4), while in the semi-finals they overcame Luis Oliver Artigas and Izan Ranera (4-6 6-3 6-2). For Zurita, the Swedish tournament marked his fifth title on the CUPRA FIP Tour and his first of 2026. “The truth is that I feel immense joy at having managed to win my first tournament on the professional circuit – Rivas wrote after the triumph -. There is a great deal of work behind this achievement, but it is always worth it: the miles each week to go to training, the early alarms and training sessions even when you are tired. Thank you to my family and friends for their support even from afar, and also to my coaches who ensure that we continue to improve every day. It is time to enjoy the victory, but with the mind already focused on the next tournament: this is only the beginning” He also made a special dedication: “Uncle, I know that from above you gave me the strength I needed in the most difficult moments, thank you for always guiding me”.
Following the victory at the FIP Bronze in Houten for Mónica Gómez and Claudia Escacena comes a second consecutive title: they have also been crowned champions at the FIP Bronze in Helsingborg. The Spanish pair lifted the title after a closely contested final against the top seeds, respectively ranked No.43 and No.48 in the FIP Ranking, Lara Arruabarrena and Marina Lobo (6-4 5-7 6-3). The strength of the winners was already evident in the semi-finals, when they recorded a convincing victory (6-1 6-2) over Clarinha Santos and Paula Ferran (4).
