Netherlands, new success for Claudia Escacena and Monica Gomez

After their victory in Como at the final FIP Silver of last season, Claudia Escacena and Monica Gomez have claimed another title on the CUPRA FIP Tour. This time the stage was the FIP Bronze Padelshop Open in Houten, Netherlands, where the Spanish pair defeated the top seeds Nati Lopez Diaz and Victoria Kurz in a final that remained in the balance until the final point (7-6 7-5). In the semi-finals, the winning pair overcame Teresa Moriñigo and Carmen Castillon, the latter marking a strong return after nine months away from competition.

In the men’s draw, it was the weekend of the Franco-Belgian pair Dylan Guichard and Clement Geens, who secured their first title of the season. The top seeds grew into the tournament after a difficult opening round against Britain’s Harris/Loughlan, gaining confidence and improving their performance before managing the final perfectly (6-4 6-0) against Guillem Figuerola and Roberto Belmont, earning 40 points in the FIP Ranking.
