It is a historic year for global youth Padel. Following the confirmation of the 2026 FIP Junior Continental Cups calendar, the International Padel Federation has selected Porto, Portugal – a country experiencing significant growth in Padel, both in technical and organisational terms – as the host city for the third edition of the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup, confirming the increasingly central role of new generations in the development of the sport.
The continental tournament taking place in Portugal follows the editions held in Valencia (2022) and Budapest (2024) and will be staged at the Padel Athletic Club facilities. The best of Europe’s NextGen is therefore preparing for a key event, two years after Spain’s double triumph and the podium finishes achieved by France and Sweden in the men’s competition, and Italy and Portugal in the women’s. At stake will not only be the prestigious European title: the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup is also a key stage in the qualification pathway towards the FIP Junior World Cup 2027, within an increasingly structured and international competitive system.
Even more significant is the value of the tournament beyond the technical and competitive aspect: the competition represents an important opportunity for cultural and social exchange between young athletes from different countries, in line with one of the core principles of the FIP vision. It is a formative experience that contributes to the development of participants not only as athletes, but also as individuals, promoting fundamental values such as respect, fairness, inclusion and team spirit.
THE PROGRAMME The competition, organised across the Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 categories, will be structured in two distinct phases. From 27 to 29 June, the qualification stage will take place to determine the main draw, while from 30 June the tournament will enter its decisive phase with the start of the Final 8. The event will conclude on Saturday 4 July with the finals that will award the men’s and women’s titles.
THE TOP 8 Based on the results achieved at the most recent European Championship held in Hungary in 2024, eight teams – four men’s and four women’s – have already secured their place in the Final 8 in Porto:
Men’s competition: Spain, France, Sweden, Belgium
Women’s competition: Spain, Italy, Portugal, France
The remaining places to complete the Final 8 line-up will be allocated through the initial qualification phase.
CARRARO “We are very pleased to bring, for the first time in Portugal, a major continental junior competition such as the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup”, said International Padel Federation President Luigi Carraro, who added: “Portugal is a country that is making an extraordinary contribution to the growth of Padel, both in terms of players and organisational development. I would therefore like to thank the Portuguese Federation and its President Ricardo da Silva Oliveira for their commitment and cooperation, which make an event of such a high level dedicated to the next generation possible. To the young athletes I would like to say: enjoy yourselves, make friends on and off the court, be sporting and wear your national shirt with pride”.
OLIVEIRA “Hosting the FIP Junior Euro Padel Cup is the fulfillment of a long-held dream and completes our cycle of organizing every major international Padel event”, said Ricardo da Silva Oliveira, President of the Portuguese Padel Federation (FPP). “We are deeply honoured by the trust Luigi Carraro and the FIP have placed in us, and we are fully committed to leveraging our extensive experience to deliver an unforgettable, world-class event for the next generation of players”.
